Scripture: Jeremiah 42:6
"Whether it is pleasant or unpleasant, we will listen to the voice of the LORD our God to whom we are sending you, so that it may go well with us when we listen to the voice of the LORD our God."
By God's grace and mercy His word brings about conviction, and invitation to partake of the gift of repentance. Sometimes this is hard to hear, but the comfort of His eternal love and promise to never leave or forsake us always attends the conviction and invitation. We can surely know that to listen to God leads us to wellness.
Prayer
Lord, help me also never to leave or forsake You, but to listen to your words with the hearing you have given me. Amen.

I'm reading a book by Andy Stanley called "It Came From Within". I love Andy's writing style as it's so direct and non-churchy. He makes the point in the chapter I'm in now that confession can't be about us (making us feel better). Confession is more associated with repentance, a change in direction. Much of modern day confession is a white washing that rubs off rather quickly. The trick to good confession is it's direct connection with repentance. Your devotional today, brings that point home.
Patrick,
Thanks for your heart and mind. I too am a graduate of Biola MA in Apologetics and I really like your blog and site. I have just attached a link on my blog to your article refuting Lowders two-burial hypothesis. Hope things are well. I'll be praying for your ministry. peace brother, Rand
